In the extra audio portion, there is an explanation of how two words (a noun and a verb) that are written the same way are pronounced differently. The examples are gosto (I like – verb; flavor – noun) and jogo (I play – verb; game – noun). I think the same is true for olho (I look) and olho (eye). Personally, I’m always forgetting which is pronounced which way.

    Hi again Steven!

You pronounce olho (ôlho) for “eye”.
And olho (ólho), for “I look”.

Notice that the word “óleo” is sometimes pronounced the same as “olho” (ólho).

Is there a difference between “final de semana” and “fim de semana”?

    Obrigado,

    Mark

Oi Mark. As duas expressões são basicamente a mesma coisa. Talvez final de semana dá uma idéia mais de sábado e domingo, enquanto fim de semana inclui sexta após o trabalho. Agora, quando alguém fala final dA semana é sábado ou domingo. Depois vou pesquisar e dar uma resposta mais bem fundamentada.
